3-Day Kayak Tour in the Stockholm Archipelago
Three Days Across the Middle & Outer Archipelago
Three days on the water — travelling further, camping twice, and experiencing the archipelago at its full scale
Further out. Longer on the water.
Three days change the rhythm completely.
With more time available, we are not limited to a single direction or fixed route. We can adjust to wind conditions, travel further between island groups, and explore varied sections of the Stockholm Archipelago that shorter tours cannot comfortably reach.
The landscape gradually shifts as we move outward — sheltered pine-covered islands give way to more exposed granite formations shaped by wind and Baltic currents. Horizons widen. Boat traffic thins. The sense of distance increases.
The water often remains surprisingly shallow even far from the mainland — clear Baltic water stretching over smooth granite seabeds, giving the archipelago its distinct character.
Three days allow us to move through this landscape rather than simply visit it.

Three Days in the Archipelago
Day 1 – Leaving the Mainland Behind
We meet at 09:00 at our base south of Stockholm before driving to Dalarö. After a safety briefing and packing our equipment into the kayaks, we launch into the southern archipelago.
The first day builds steadily. We cross open bays, navigate narrow passages and stop for lunch on an island, preparing our meal over an open fire.
By late afternoon, we select our first campsite close to the shoreline. Kayaks are pulled above the tide line. Tents are set up. Dinner is cooked over the fire as the evening light stretches long across the water.
The first night outdoors marks the shift from excursion to immersion.
Day 2 – Moving Through Open Water
With a full day ahead, we can travel further between island groups and explore more varied terrain.
The rock formations become more sculpted by erosion. Trees grow lower and more wind-shaped. Long crossings connect broader sections of the archipelago.
If conditions allow, we may paddle near areas such as Kåsten nature reserve — known as a seal habitat — always maintaining appropriate distance and respecting wildlife.
Lunch is prepared outdoors once again. With three days available, there is space for longer breaks, swimming in shallow clear water, and adjusting our route to explore new island formations.
By late afternoon, we establish our second campsite — often in quieter stretches where the atmosphere feels distinctly removed from the mainland.
Day 3 – The Return Journey
The final morning begins calmly — coffee by the shoreline, breakfast outdoors, tents packed and kayaks loaded once more.
We paddle back toward Dalarö, often following a different line than our outward route. Depending on conditions, there may be opportunities to climb a granite viewpoint offering wide perspectives over the southern archipelago.
By late afternoon, we return to our starting point and drive back to Stockholm — carrying three days of salt air, distance and perspective.
-
Three days outdoors in the Stockholm Archipelago, combining steady paddling, longer crossings and two nights of camp life by the sea.
Routes are adapted to wind conditions and the group. Expect deeper immersion, greater landscape variation and the rewarding rhythm that comes from moving across the archipelago at its natural pace.
-
No previous kayaking experience is required. The tour is accessible for most active travelers with a normal level of fitness.
Distances are greater than the 2-day tour, and some crossings are longer, but routes are adapted to wind conditions and the group. Three days leave you pleasantly worked and fully immersed — not exhausted.
-
If we cancel due to unsafe weather conditions, you’ll be offered a different date, activity or a full refund.
A minimum number of participants is required for the tour to run. If it’s cancelled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
We’re closely following the government regulations regarding fire bans. We won't cancel your tour because of a fire ban but you’ll be offered a cold lunch instead!
Please note that for safety reasons your guide might have to ask you to go in a more stable double kayak with someone.

Wildlife & Coastal Life
Over three days, the likelihood of encountering wildlife increases. Sea eagles are regularly seen circling above the islands. Cormorants rest on offshore rocks. Seals may appear in protected waters when conditions are right.
The extended time on the water allows the character of the archipelago to reveal itself gradually.
Limited to small groups — early booking is recommended during THE peak season
