Professional Instruction | Field-Tested Experience
The course is led by professional survival and bushcraft instructors with long-term experience in wilderness instruction and outdoor guiding. All instructors regularly work in natural environments and are used to teaching practical skills in real conditions.
Instruction is hands-on and structured, with a focus on correct technique, priorities and practical judgment — understanding what to do outdoors, how to prepare properly, and how to avoid unnecessary risk. Teaching is adapted to the group, allowing each participant to progress at their own pace while working with the same core skills.
The course content is built on more than 20 years of survival and bushcraft experience, developed through expeditions, wilderness travel and professional outdoor work.
The founder of True Nature Sweden spent five consecutive years travelling full-time, crossing jungles, mountain ranges, forests and remote regions across multiple continents. That experience shaped the philosophy behind these courses: practical, honest and grounded in reality, adapted to Nordic environments.
What You Will Learn
This 2-day bushcraft and wilderness survival course provides a strong, practical foundation focused on preparation, comfort and safe outdoor living.
You learn bushcraft fundamentals and outdoor mindset, including how to pack your backpack, choose appropriate equipment and prepare for hikes and multi-day outings. Survival priorities are introduced in a calm, structured way, helping you understand what matters first in outdoor situations.
You work with firecraft from the ground up — lighting, building and maintaining fire using natural materials — followed by tarp shelter setup and basic shelter concepts. Water sourcing and purification are introduced, along with the basics of foraging and food preparation in the wild.
Plant knowledge is covered through direct observation, including edible, toxic and medicinal species. You also practice navigation and orientation, wildlife awareness, basic tracking, camp organisation and group functioning outdoors.
All skills are taught outdoors, in real conditions, with theory immediately followed by practice.
Focuses on preparation, comfort and confidence-building for safe outdoor living
Life in Camp – Food, Fire and Daily Practice
You live outdoors for the entire duration of the course, but comfort and confidence are prioritised.
Participants may choose to sleep in a tent rather than a makeshift shelter if desired. This allows you to focus on learning skills during the day while still resting comfortably at night.
Meals are prepared over an open fire using fresh products, with a strong focus on practical outdoor cooking. You learn how to manage fire efficiently, control heat and cook real meals in the forest — skills directly transferable to hiking and camping trips.
Days move between instruction, practice, repetition and reflection. There is time to ask questions, try things at your own pace and build confidence through doing rather than watching.
